Showdown!

Sugar Hill Gang Versus Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five

Fred versus Barney for the title of Grand Poohbah of the Bedrock Water Buffalo Lodge

Bruce Lee versus Kareem Abdul Jabbar in Game of Death

And now the battle for the best team in the NFC East... New York... Philadelphia... Washington... Dallas

This is shaping up to be a great season.

The Giants are the defending Super Bowl champions with Eli Manning and Plaxico Burress transforming into a dangerous offensive threat.

The Cowboys ran off a 13 and 3 season with 13 Pro Bowlers on the roster and added Zach Thomas and Pacman Jones to an already tough defense.

Donavan McNabb and the Eagles are poised to reclaim their spot at the top of the divison. The Eagles added Asante Samuel to the defensive backfield and drafted DeSean Jackson as a new target for McNabb.

The Redskins have closed the book on the Joe Gibbs era with the hiring of Jim Zorn as head coach. Zorn plans on implementing the West Coast offense with Jason Campbell leading the way. Jason Taylor was a big-time free agent signing for the Redskins, joining Andre Carter to give the defense two explosive pass rushers.

Give Him the Ax!

Have you seen Chief Zee 's tomahawk?

On Aug. 9, the Chief -- a Washington Redskins superfan whose real name is Zema Williams-- set his signature prop down while he was signing autographs at the Redskins' preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. When he turned to retrieve it, it was gone -- subject to a prank or plain petty theft, he believes.

"I had that thing for 25 years. Anytime you saw me, I had my little tomahawk," Williams, 67, told us yesterday. "I don't see what they would do with it, but I'm sure whoever took it was playing a trick. I sat in the parking lot long after the game was over thinking someone would come out with it." But it never turned up.

The 12-inch tomahawk has a slender wooden handle with a rubber blade, and appears in many photos of Williams since he started attending Redskins games nearly 30 years ago. "It's my main piece -- it's got Sean Taylor 's number on it and everything," Williams said, referring to the Redskins safety who was murdered in November.

Williams isn't offering a reward, but hopes a good Samaritan will bring his tomahawk back: "If it's out there, please return it. It's a part of me."

Still waiting for Pacman's suspension to be lifted

Pacman Jones wrote a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell requesting to have his 1 year suspension lifted. Goodell hasn't responded yet. The Cowboys expect the suspension to be lifted by the time teams are required to cut their active rosters down to 53 players.
